Re: Fire extinguishers

I posted on this topic a few months ago, but it bears repeating. If you are carrying a fire extinguisher in a vehicle, every week or so take it out and shake it up to keep the dry chemical from settling and clumping. It can happen. A full extinguisher that won't discharge the chemical due to clumping is virtually useless. I'm a fire dept. member and have seen this happen, both in vehicles and in the home (extinguishers placed on top of a refrigerator and the constant vibration of the compressor causing settling). Just one more thing to think about.
