Yes, you must pull both axleshafts. Just make sure when you loosen the straps holding the carrier in that you put them back on EXACTLY the way they came off. Also be sure to put the shims from each side EXACTLY where they were. Tighten cap bolts to OEM specs. Real simple if you dont mix up all the shims.........have fun.....-robo-
