I was hoping to get this thing done this weekend but I keep getting hung up.

Right now I'm using 4"/1" C-Channel in a configuration like the below.

I drilled the C-Channel and bolted it to the rear-crossmember.
How is that going to work? The bumper and tire-carrier are only 1/8" thick, and the C-Channel is 3/16.

Will this hold everything on?
Is the cross member strong enough.
It's all in good shape (no rust)
and I can't do any of that tie into frame stuff, my YJ has shackles in the way.

Will 8 bolts through the c-channel into the cross member do the trick?
I'd really hate to have to take the bits of C-Channel of.. they were a real pig to get on.
