Here is my problem, I was a proud owner of a 1980 cj-5 until the last inspection where i found out the rust monster engulfed my frame, and it is no longer safe to drive. Unfortunately i had just sent the engine out to be remanufatured, bought a new 4inch suspention lift and rims and 33inch tires, new top. I am in the process of looking for a new toy, and found a 1977 cj-5 with a good frame and a fiberglass body. It seems to run just fine. It has a 258 and what i believe to be a t-18 trans.

My question is will the 1980 258 engine bolt up to the 1977 trans and frame with out any problems.

I would also like to know will the lift also bolt up.

Any help would work right now. I've only been doing this jeeping thing 3 years now, still a rookie.
