5.13\'s too much for 33\'s?

Just woundering if 5.13 axle gears will be enough or too much to run 33's with stock t-case gears? Or should I go with a higher r&p (like 4.89's)? I want to run 33's and I am getting new r&p's, then in a couple months I will get 4.16 t-case gears. I will be doing a lot of highway driving.

So whats the best combo for 33's?

I thought about Sumo's, but the axles need to be rebuilt and lockers installed.

I think Yankee Tim has the right combo for 33's. I ran the 4.16 t-case and 5.43 R&P and it was just to low for me. I have a friend that runs a stock t-case and 5.43 R&P and he loves it. That is with 33" tires.
I run Yota axles now with a 4.16 t-case and the stock 4.10 R&P and it is way to high.

I have the GRS1 and 4.62's, with 33's. My speedo is a mile or two from being correct. It works good. If you are running the older tranny it has a higher 5th gear. I am running the newer one and it windes it up a little at freeway speeds. I am thinking about 5.12's :)

Re: 5.13\'s too much for 33\'s?

5.13's are PERFECT for running 33's. I could do 80mph (really!) with 33X15.50 TSL SX's on my 1991 EFI Zuk. Now that I swapped the 1.3 out for a 1.6 16V I can easily top 100mph, though I do this very rarely. So as I said the 5.13's ar PERFECT or go with the 4.62's and a 4.16 t-case which would also be PERFECT gearing.

I'm running a stock transfer case, 33x13.5 claws, and 5.38 gears. If I were to do it over, I'd go with the 4.62 gears. The 5.38's are great on the trail, but as a daily driver, it does cut into my speed. I can get up to speed, but I'm taching pretty high. If you go with the 4.16 transfer case gears soon, then I'd suggest using 4.89's or even the 4.62 in your r&p gears.
