This is weird because that light should absolutely not be on unless the front fork is engaged...if it was a problem with the motor then either it should be stuck in 4wd or would not engage, one or the other, but the light should not be on and 4wd be off. Don't have a solution, just wanted to note that there may be another problem besides the motor.
