ok those pins.. if you look at your shaft.. there will be a flat portion on two sides.. about 6 - 8" long.. and in that flat portion.. there will be two small pins.. about an 1/8" in diameter.. they are plastic.. take a drill bit.. that size.. and drill them out.. all the way thru the shaft.. pull shaft apart.. clean and grease.. put back together.. shaft will now slide somewhat roughly.. but you now will have several inches of play to work with..
there is no need to re-pin it.. unless your shaft flexes more than like 4 inches.. then it will never come apart.. and if it flexes that much.. you have problems..
