On my 78 the fusebox has become quite corroded and I need to clean it up. It looks like 2 torx screws and a bolt hold it in. Is it easy to remove? Also, can I replace the fuse box without rewiring the whole system?
Thanks,
D
I had the same problem and pulled mine out and cleaned it up. Take out the bolts and you can get it away from the firewall a few inches and get the job done. You can take the slack out of the wires behind it going through the firewall for a lttle more room. It is still a tight job to do. I take the seats outs out when I work under the dash. It is MUCH easier to work under there and it only take a couple of minutes to do.
Tip-
Those early out side fuse block modules are actually two pieces and once you get the block free from the firewall you can seperate the two secions that fit together on a staggered line by sliding them apart.
Is it possible to undo the 2 sections and push them through the firewall to be able to work on them from the engine compartment side rather than under the dash?
Thanks,
D
Nevermind about getting it through the firewall. Not possible. Thanks for the posts. I was able to get it out ok. Now if I could just figure out what all the extra wires are for?!?!
