Re: Contemplating tranny rebuild

I just pulled my t-4 in my back yard laying on a peice of plywood with nothing but my socket set, 1 long screwdriver, a couple of extensions and 1 set of wrenches. If you have 1 friend with a little bit of muscle you don't even need a jack. It is not very tough, the one thing I would recommend is removing the interior (seat, carpet, etc..) so that you can get around and move inside of the jeep after you remove the access panel in the floor. It cost me $973 including transmission completely gone through, a new clutch from dial-a-clutch, resurface flywheel and replace the ring gear and all new u-joints. This of course is not counting the multiple beers drank.
