Not having an exploded view to look at, I would venture a guess that you will have to take apart the case to put in a new input shaft bearing.

Cost for any work on a Peugot trans will not be worth your money. At the first sign of trouble from this trans, I urge you to replace it with a better tranny. Your wallet will thank you. If you haven't been told this is the worst trans ever put in a Jeep, followed closely by the SR-4. Find a T-18 and drop it in. You will lose OD(5th gear), but the reliabiliy you will gain will more than make up for it.
