James, 5.43 gears would be too low for a daily driver with 31's, especially if your ever going to change t-case gears. I would recommend going with 4.16 t-case gears instead of r&p gears at this time. Cheaper and easier in the long run. 4.16 t-case gears would put you about spot on or a little undergeared in high range but would make a huge difference in low range. As far as needing to cut the tube behind the bumper for clearance, I would think so, but go straight to the source (Calmini) to get a difinitive answer on that subject. They will steer you straight.
