97 MXZ 583 Repair

My son caught a curb and bent the DSA arm and snapped the end off the lug where the arm is attached to the belly pan. I heated the DSA arm and bent the end straight. To limp the sled home, I inserted a 10mm screw into the 2 halves of the snapped lug. It's hollow inside. I talked to one of the local dealers, and he said @ $200 + parts to replace the arm and the bracket. The lug is actually part of a bracket that is below and under the left foot rest. Aside from removing the entire belly pan as the dealer would do, is there an easier way to replace the bracket? I have sent an E-mail to Ski-Doo, but have not rec'd an answer.
