The rear of the 241 is longer than the rear of a j231, but they are the same length as the d231. The 241 does have the 23 spline input. If you have a 4500 from a dodge with the 23 spline, the 241 should be a bolt up. The cheby 241 will not bolt up to the dodge tranny. They are a little pricey though, I gave $500 for my 97 241, but only because I knew the guy pretty well. As for the input splines on the 231s, the manuals had the 21 spline and the autos had the 23 spline, or so I found when I was resurching them. Steve
