`96 ZR2 - bad bearing or CV

I noticed a clunking sound in my `96 ZR2 a little while back when making sharp turns. I think it is either a bad front wheel bearing or possibly a CV joint going out.

Is it possible to change just the wheel bearings (like on older Chevys), or do you have to replace a whole sealed 'bearing assembly' that costs mucho $$$?

When replacing a CV joint, does the whole half shaft from the front differential to wheel has to be replaced?

Hopefully it's just a loose shock or something else minor, but I'll know for sure after I do an inspection this weekend.

Thanks for any help - this IFS stuff is way different from what I'm use to working on.
