I've got a friend that has some BFG trail tires with great tread, and nice rims. the front tires are 31"s and the back are 33" will they work on my CJ, I don't have any lift yet but i have to do things one step at a time. So what do you guys think? Thanks...Kyle

no can do unless you run miss matched gear ratios. as an example for 31 on front 33 in rear you need 3.89 in front and 4.11 in the rear. you will destroy a dana 20 or 300 pretty quickly if tires are that badly mismathced.

Yep, it'll kill them in short order. However, you could air up the front and decrease the air in the back so they're the SAME size (distance from axle center to ground), then it would work in slow speeds only. I still don't rcommend it though.
it only makes a difference in 4wd. you can say that you'll only be useing the 4x4 in slippery stuff but you never know just how good your traction is so i do not recomend it.

Ok thanks. That really sucks. I could have had a nice set of rims and tires.
