After having had a Detroit E-Z Locker for about six months, my opinion is that no locker is better than any non-selectable locker on the street. I didn't think that the clanging, banging, jerking and pulling would bother me, but I was wrong. It would never let me forget that it was there; it kept reminding me that my tires were getting ground off.

So for a Jeep that spends most of its time on the road, I would get the OX. If it's a trail-only or trail-mostly Jeep I'd get the OX anyway, unless I were strapped for cash and the Detroit was enough cheaper to make the difference. But both of those choices depend on the devices being approximately equal in reliability and after-sale support.

EVERYTHING's easy for the guy who doesn't have to do it.
