Rio is right about the shock....if you need it....something is's main purpose is to prevent the wheel from being jerked out of your hand when a tires hits a rock or tree....

I've been driving my CJ now for almost a year without the steering stabilizer...drives great on the Fwy....and yes, I have SOA....with a d30 in the front (but not for long...found a flat top D44).

BTW....I'm running stock rubber bushings....
