Dodge TREs, at least from the early to mid 80s have unusual threads on the shank. Both ends are right-hand thread, but one is a 5/8-12 and the other is a 5/8-20, or something like that - neither is a standard course or a standard fine. As the link is twisted, its functional length is changed by the difference between the two pitches. I didn't think that Jeep or GM used that technique.
If you measure the thread pitch and diameter, and it isn't a standard thread, it might be Mopar. Come back with what you find and I can compare it to the taps I had to buy to make a tie rod
