Could vent be causing my axle seal leak?

Noticed it today, replaced the bearings and seals when I did the disc conversion. Rear Scout D44 single seal. I knew the vent was clogged, but wanted to get the bugs worked out, then plumb the vent line into the line from the t-case and tranny.

I've put on 150-250 miles since the axles swap. It's been warm here the last few days and I'm thinkin that maybe the pressure build up in the axle forced gear oil out one side.

I fixed the vent, cleaned what had leaked, and drove into town and back (give or take eight miles) and it's still dry. I'll keep an eye on it.

Anyone have an experience such as this? I'm hoping I don't have to R&R the seal/bearing again.
