Re: Wagoneer/scout axle question

What is so special about the '78 or '79 that you need these model years? Most Samurai owners look for earlier '70s models Cherokees or Wagoneers that used the Quadratrac 4x4 system. These models had narrow-track Dana 44s front and rear, and the rear pumpkin was off-set to the passenger side just like the Samurai.

I currently have a '75 Cherokee with narrow-track Dana 44s front and rear. It's not a quadratac though so the rear differential is centered. But if it's what you're looking for I'm only 8 hours away from you. I'd let the truck go cheap to get it outta my yard.

BTW this rig also has a T-18 4-speed. It's a very desirable upgrade tranny for CJ and YJ owners. The first gear ratio is somewhere in the neighborhood of 6:1.
