Are the inline 6 engines in amc cars 248s? Could i get a block off of an amc car w/ a 258 and put all the parts from my jeep onto the car block and put it in my jeep?

AMC wasn't truely inventive, a 258 was a 258 as far as the base engine goes. The CJ's had a six (6) quart oil pan and there could have been different cams or something like that I can't be sure on that count. There was never a 248 but there was a smaller version and someone said 232... that sounds right.

If you have a block out of some old Concorde or Eagle it won't be enough different to make you care.
