OK I just got a set of older CJ5 mirrors... and I've been working on some ideas on the best way to mount them. Keep in mind that I wish to install a fold-down windshield and run doorless.. so the options are limited.
I coulda swore that I saw someones rig with a mirror installed on the cowl panel allowing for both door-free and fold-down w/shield..

I've got my standard Zuk mirrors installed on the extended aluminum part that "roadless gear" sells. They work well with doors on - doors off.....
Just try the SJ series mirrors, they mount right up below the windshield at the top corner of the cowl and clear the doors nicely .

That's exactly the idea and mounting position that I'd come up with... but I think that there was someone on this site that had them mounted on the cowl panel... it looked simple enough when I saw it... never thought that it would be so custom... guess I'll have to create my own mounting brackets to suit my needs.
