| | Re: Ask a Baja motorsports employee The dune 150 is sold as a green sticker vehicle in California. If you purchased the vehicle out side of California there is no way you can change the type of emissions rating once the factory has set it. If you email service@bajamotorsports they can give you proof of green sticker emissions qualifications.

| | | Youth 90 availability in Central Ca? Hey,
In order to avoid buying a horse - Santa Claus has come to the determination that a kids ATV is the way to go.
I'm looking for a unit to be used by my 8 year old girl -- and I can step it up after she gets good on it - Ie unplug rev limiter. When I saw the adds for the Baja motorsports 90 - I did a little research and it appears to be a good little unit - at about 1/2 the price of the competitors.
They are advertised as being for sale at Pep Boys - a bi-coastal autoparts and service chain. So I went to Pep boys here in town - Fresno Ca. and both of them tell me the same story - that through some snafu the don't have "their license" to sell these units - so the state wont allow it. However I'm told that PepBoys in LA or 100 miles north of me do have them for sale?
Whats the deal here? And what about availability of parts?

I have no idea why they would tell you that. All licensing for Pep boys store is state wide; if one store in a state can sell an ATV any store in the state can sell an AT. You can try Pep Boys customer service 888.737.2697 to see if you can get an ATV to the store near you.
Sorry this is one quesiton i am of little help on

Most likely its the spark plug. I would replace them. You can use NGK C7HSA gap distance .6mm to .7mm

| | | Ask a Baja motorsports employee I just bought 2 Baja 90 wildernesses and had new carbs put on them. They run great except the one leak a drop or 2 of fuel only when it is shut off. It leaks right around the area where the first fuel shut off valve connects to the gas tank. I pulled out the screw that connect the valve to the tank and put some teflon tape on it and it has now slowed to about two or 3 drips a night. Do you know what would cause this or how to fix it? Also, this same atv stalls every once and awhile, any ideas? I put new fuel in, new air filter, new spark plug, and new oil. Also, why do these units have 2 fuel shutoff valves? TIA. |

| | | Re: Ask a Baja motorsports employee Hello,
I just purchased a Mini Baja for my son this Christmas. It is very nice except it will not idle down right and continue to run at idle. It will die consistantly. I have tried to set the idle screw RPM's up; but the engine hunts at any RPM and will die when throttle is backed off.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,

You will need to call in and order the parts from Baja Motorsports 888.863.2252
The year the vehicle is made would be the 10th digit in the vin number. For example your vin might read like this LAWAAGMC051489534. The 05 would represent the year it was made.
For more information about Baja or its vehicles you can go on-line to Bajamotorsports.net

| | | Re: Ask a Baja motorsports employee Got a baja 90 for my kids Christmas and have a couple of questions/observation here:
1-after about 3 days/60 miles the valves have gotten noticably louder...tap tap tapping. Do these need adjusting/shims??
2-the clutch is shifting extremely rough, the whole unit shutters...rode a friends his does not.
3-Man does this unit ever vibrate, makes my feet numb...even with the rev limiter dc'd this unit really revs rough and ohhh the vibration...can this be improved??
4-cdn tire charges a $25 setup fee... was low on oil, no tire pressure, air filter was dry, idle was not set, loose bolts etc... what did they set up??
It's in being looked at while still warranty'd, we'll see what they find/do... the mechanic said he'd just replaced another bad clutch, but wasn't sure on the valves, said they didn't cover that at the baja training he recieved?? | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
