I have noted a couple of messages on baja 90's that won't start, just a click when you hit the start button. I am having same problem. Power is getting to the starter as it gets warm but nothing happens (it doesn't turn the engine over. Anyone get this resolved? Battery is good, lights at full power when turned on.
Problem started on first ride of the spring. I was going down the road when the motor died. Hit the starter and it went again. Died 50 yards later;m started again and made it home (100 yards) and quit again. Now engine won't turn over. Oil level is good. Quad has 200 miles on it.
Any guess as to problem?
Frustrated in Saskatchewan!
hey, I just purchased the baja mini minibike a week ago. It has the 196cc, 6.5 hp motor. I am very dissapointed with the performance, I was not going to buy anything that went under 25 mph, because under 25 is just useless. The box it came it said it would go about 28, i am a very light rider (around 130 lbs), so i thought i would have no problem reaching the max speed. we got it up and running, and it seemed to go pretty slow, I thought that it probally just needed to get broken in a little bit but now I've probally put about 75 miles on it (a tank and a 1/2) but it still hasn't gotten any better. Yesterday we decided to test the speed, so we took it up to full speed and matched it with our truck, and it was only 20 mph!
Today I called customer service to try to see what was wrong with it, but the girl said it is only supposed to go 15-20!
The thing just makes me so mad, the speed was the selling point for me, i wouldn't have even thought about buying it at 15-20 mph, my ELECTRIC SCOOTER from 7 years ago goes faster than that!
is there anything I can do?
I would be more than happy if I could return it, but increasing the speed while keeping the warranty would be o.k. too
also, the fuel gauge doesn't work, but i could care less about that.
I have attached a picture of the box with the specs it gave there.
sorry the picture is kind of dark, but you can still read it
I feel your pain with the 20 mph mini-bike, but the box reads max 28 MPH, not that it will do 28 mph. Maybe it's 28 with 60 lb rider? Personally, if you are getting 20 mph, there is probably some tweeaking you can do to improve it somewhat. If it is really 196cc, maybe there is a governor on it!

haha ive loosened the governor screw that limits the throttle all the way,
but maybey theres another one somewhere?
also i was thinking about putting a smaller rear sprocket in, but then i would lose excelleration
i wish i would have gone with the Tomberlin minibike, we have their version of the baja 150 go-kart (same cart-different color) and they do anything they can to make us happy

Reason: forgot words
I purchased 2 Baja products the same day, (5/21/07) one quit the first day, after several calls they finally told me where to take it for service, I carried to the repair center (6/6/07) they still have it, on 6/12/07 the other quit running, these things are junk, and Baja will not make it right, I purchased them at Pep Boys, and the Manager there is helping me as much as he can, but Baja is trying to make him eat them, Baja Sucks Buyer beware.
one month has passed and my sons still do not have their $2000.00 worth of Baja equipment to enjoy, Baja has not returned any calls, nor have I heard from the repair center, I contacted Pep Boys customer service center and asked to speak to someone at the district level, they said I should here from them in 24 hours, the last conversation with Baja they offered to extend the warranty an extra month, and they also offered me the parts to repair them myself I declined as I purchased new so I would not have to work on them.
I bought 2 Wilderness 90's in December from Pep Boys. The same thing happend to me as happened to you, one quit running and would not start. When I took it in for warrenty work,, the mechanic unpluged the rev limiter and it started right up. A week later the same thing happend to the other one, I unpluged the rev liminter and it started right up. Hope this information helps you.
another week has past and still no calls from Baja, or Pep Boys, I have left messages (but I am not calling every day) I called twice this week, neither has returned my phone calls
