Default Where to go offroading in MA? looking for fun..

Hey, live in southeast MA.30 min south of Boston. i know of a few places to go offroading, and am looking for more and even maybe people to go with.. Currently, i havn't done a whole lot, few mopnths ago i use to go offroading at a place called the veterans trail, whichc is exit 20 of 495 north, and once off the exit take a right and another immediate right onto the trails up and into the powerlines. Not sure if it is still ok, never gotten in trouble, I also know of a bunch of other places but they seem to be closed up now, and i have been kicked out of a few ( Just been told not to come back) So I don't know where else to go.. I have heard of the florida rd somewhere out in western ma about 3 hours away but never been there and dont know where it is.. Let me know if you have an places.. or Want to go offroading some time..
Thanks
Jeff

I am from Westport, MA it's right on the coast. What town are you in? Not to many places around me either. There is the Freetown State Forest/Fall River Reservation which has plenty of trails, but all the good trails are closed.

all kinds of areas in Mass..........of course most are kept secret to keep others away......there is a group of us on Suzuki BBS from New England......if you check BBS now and then you can find some who might let you know of some trails. We do have trail rides now and then also.
Also try IZOOK locator to find people in your area.

There is nothing of any real challenge in eastern MA. Freetown is open but ONLY the roads that are posted as open to motor vehicles. Maps are available online for Freetown SF.

Your best bet is to simply join a club. Most are only $50 a year and thats about half what a simple trespass ticket will get you. Ignorance of the law won't get you out of a ticket.

Although there are some places in western MA that are legal open roads, and getting you there is easy.. getting one through the woods is near impossible. There are turns that end up on private land, one even ends up on the wrong side of a shooting range. Imagine trying to give directions through the woods.. "Take a left at the tree that looks like an old man carrying a sack..." just doesn't work.

I'd go to EC4WDA -- East Coast 4 Wheel Drive Association -- NorthEast Region for more info on New England clubs.
A nice deal is that all of our clubs offer an open invite to fellow association members, so, you can't make your own club's monthly ride, just hook up with one of our sister clubs. Last year, between our 15 clubs, we offered over 120 events throughout the season.

Or email me if you have any other questions: E4WBrill@aol.com

Talk soon,
