Default Yamaha LT2 spinning circles

Hello, recently I purchased a 73 Yamaha LT2. Decent little bike, it runs and all, but I am trying to locate a kick starter for it. I ordered one from speed and sport inc, however it is the wrong size (too large of diameter to be clamped to the kick axle) the original kick starter was crapilly weld to the old kick axle, and broke off moments after I purchased the bike(talk about a let down.)

I replaced the broken axle and componets, but have been unable to source the kickstarter (kick crank). I have searched dilegently on the web to find a new one, but the pics on various sites diagrams do not correspond to the old part I have. I don't know what to do, and need some insight. Tired of push starting this thing. Thanks. RS

I'm in the same boat as you, sort of...

I have a 1972 Yamaha LT2 100cc Enduro w/o a kick starter also. I got two bikes in a package deal and neither one had a kick start assembly. I mean the whole shaft and everything is missing!

What else will interchange? Is there another year model or Yamaha model that I can use the shaft assembly from? This bike is ready to go but hasn't been run in a while, so I don't feel up to pushing it around and trying to get it to fire off that first time...LOL.

if you have the kick shaft, seems like an easy project for a machine shop to cut, spline, drill and tap.
