DT 400 clutch problem

I have a '78 DT 400 E. After a recent crash, my dad and i rebuilt the front end, handle bars, gauge cluster, brake and clutch cables, etc.. Today is the first day taking it out, and the clutch seems to not be engaging. I don't know if it the cable or not...could someone help me?
