sportsman 800 cv problem

I have a 08 sportsman 800 with a busted cv joint on the front right side and a busted boot on the rear right side. My axles have a round c-clip on the end of them that snaps into the cv joint. My question is how do you get the cv joint off the axle?

If I remember corectly it just pops out but I am not sure. any help would be appreciated
