Mike Penland??

There has long been speculation that Mike Penland is reaching a time where he cannot compete anymore with the level of riders in the GNCC series. What will he do after racing? Has anyone ever thought about what happens when you realize its time to quit?
I knew when my back cracked against the creek bank that i had to figure out a different way to enjoy the sport.It was one heck of an awakening but the thought of not walking again was something i couldnt ignore..

Great time to be standing beside and behind his son. Nothing beats watching your kid race and succeed - even if they aren't very "kid" anymore.

Mike's a true gentleman, a memorable ambassador for ATV racing. No one has stepped up to fill his shoes. Other sports get tatoos and piercings - I was glad that what we recognized at a glance, was the Panama hat and mustache.

Will he race just a little for years to come because he can't stand not too, and be happy off the podium?

Maybe we'll see him in a week or so at the Dealer Expo, and ask him...
