Default How About Some of Your Input, PLEASE!

Hello there:

This is my first title post. After doing a lot of research and looking around, I finally decided to buy my first brand new atv. I chose the 500 Vinson Auto 4X4. I liked its good looks, handle bar mounted light, aluminum wheels, size and comfort compared to the other two choices I considered....the Kodiak 450 and the 500 Rubicon. To sum it all up, I felt I got more for the money in the Vinson.

Now, my question is this: Have any of you folks had ANY experiences with the Vinson? What should I watch out for, what are the pros and cons.....Any specifics and opinions on this machine are very welcome. I just want to know what to expect with my new atv!

Thanks,
Paul from PA

Welcome to the forum. I don't have any personal experience with the Vinson, but from what I've read on the 4 different forums I am regularly visiting, they seem to be a good reliable quad. I have been in the ATV message forums for almost a year and a half now, and I don't remember reading about any Vinson owners ever really complaining about problems with them.(right about the time I hit enter on this, 20 Vinson owners show up from out of nowhere to tell me how wrong i am lol)I think you made a good choice, hope you have lots of fun with it, and that it gives you many years and miles of reliable, dependable enjoyment. Default What made you choose the Suzi?

I have looked at the Vinson and the Eiger as well. I like the bikes but not many guys up here in Canada have them. One of my good buddies does and he likes it. More guys on 450 Honda Foreman and Polaris Sportsman. Check my post in General ATV looking for info on 400/500 Sportsman.

Where do you ride your Vinson ? Where I am in Canada it can go to -40 C and +40 C. I need a bike that can pull a moose from the bush as well as work around my yard. I live near some very hilly country and do get some chances to do some hard riding. Not fast just lots of up and down. As well, I like the full autos so that my kids can ride with no problems. I still haven't bought a bike but will be doing so in next month or so. Right now I just continue to ride my old 83 Honda 200 Trike when I can.

I'm sorry I haven't been around awhile to reply back to you guys, but thank you for your positive responses!

I come from Western Pennsylvania...winter has been pretty harsh this year, but I'm sure nothing like the extremes in Canada!! I ride trails and some hilly, wooded terrain. I use my atv primarily for hunting and some light trail riding. My Vinson now has a whopping 18 miles on it!! All from one trip in the snow and it performed very well. I was impressed by the handling and manouverability the most. I'm extemely happy with my purchase thus far and have heard nothing but good reviews from other Vinson owners and riders. I'm planning another ride with friends this Saturday and can't wait.

I too am buying a new atv but haven't had a lot of experience with the automatics. ALso the vinson body style is great and it has a liquid cooled engine so if it is reliable I am going to purchase the manual shift model!
