Default Big Bear low geared for top speed

Hi, I recently bought an '02 Yamaha Big Bear. It is a really great trail bike... my only complaint is that it is low geared... I know that is what makes it such a good trail bike, but first gear is a "granny low" gear that I don't need... Whenever I am driving in the open in fifth gear is seems like I need to shift again at 30-35mph.. it gets up to about 40 with me on it. It's an auto-clutch 5 speed w/ reverse. Does anyone know of anything that could be done to change this? Thanks, Joe

The bike isnt made to go fast. I bought a 2002 Big Bear last may and I have everything on it still stock and it is a great bike for just driving around.

Yes, I like it ... It just seems like you need to shift it again...

Yeah I have noticed that it sounds like it needs to shift once u hit 35. But u can go to 45 without much of a change in sounds. Only thing I can think of is change the gearing or slow down.
