honda trx300 need help

i have a 1994 trx 300 my voltage regulator went bad like 4 years ago so it has been parked since. i am now trying to get it back running but i dont have the origional voltage regulator but i do have one from an 86 trx 250 i bought for parts. it has 2 round connectors with the right color wires. but my wiring has only one round connector to accept that. i have found a picture of one with one round one square which makes since but i dont have anywhere to plug in in. i have bought all new wires because mine were all bad. i am trying to make this atv nice but i need it running first any help would be highly appreciated. thank you.
