Default ATV will not run fwd

I have a 93 Polaris 350 atv. When I start it it will bog out in fwd low and high and nuetral when giving it gas. Will not move unless I tap starter then will move momentarily. It will go in reverse. Sense it has something to do with throttle / auto clutch/ fuel problem? Will backfire profusely while doing this. Checked transmission and changed oil, changed spark plug. no luck. Any help much appreciated. Thanx.

try a new air cleaner. if it's dirty/blocked. it won't go if it can't breathe.

My husband had the same exact problem with his '98 explorer400. It ended up being the switch < by the gear shift > AND the light/on/off switch. Replaced them both and it works like a charm.Hope this helps.....

I had that problem last summer with my '96 Sport 400. All it needed was a oil change, new spark plug, and a new air filter. Then it ran like a charm.

Finally figured it out. Was the ETC switch that would over heat and short out causing engine to miss. Disconnected the black wire from ETC module and walla. it works but no limited speed in reverse. Thanx for all your help.
