Default SUV Rooftop Tent

Who makes a good rleiable and "sturdy" rooftop tent that will actually stay on the truck in nasty weather? I don't expect it to withstand a tornado, but I would like to stay dry and warm during one of Arizona's nighttime rain dumps.

I think you want to make sure that the SUV roof is appropriate for sleeping on! We have tested and liked pickup bed tents by Sportz Truck Tents and Napier, but they were in-bed styles.

Something like this looks like it would catch a whole lotta wind..

Ya, you are probably right. My interest lies in staying away from wild animals and snakes in addidtion to not getting wet. I had seen them on vehicles in 4X4 mag and Toyota Trails mag and thought it might be worth looking at.

I'm a big fan of sleeping INSIDE our Tahoe! Air mattress, good to go. No animals or creepie crawlies.

We also were glad we slept inside our Blazer at Pismo beach, when the entire crew camped too close to the water-line and woke up as the tide was coming in. Anyone in tents was soaked! Couple vehicles in neighboring camps were even farther out than us, and well.... we have pics of them nearly washing away before they woke up and discovered it.

Good times.
