Default Camping w/ Dogs

Desert season is almost here. I now have a new dileman, 2 dogs.

I need advice with taking dogs on off-roading trips. Do any of you take your dogs with you? Where do you keep them when you go on rides?

We ride dirtbikes and quads. We also like Wheelin'.

Thanks

-DZ

P.S. By the way, this is not my RV, I just thought the Picture was funny. Thought y'all might enjoy it. = )

Use to take a Springer spaniel with me but if I left him in camp he would howl his brains out until the other campers would threaten me with bodily harm if I did it again. If you take them to camp, you have to take them everywhere else too. Good Luck.

In my experience dogs don't like to be roughed up my in the back of an SUV or truck. I've also been at campgrounds where dog owners leave their dogs all day when they play. Problem with this is some dogs don't like to be left alone and can ruin other's weekends. Your dog might also be fine but someone else might think differently. They might call a ranger or take the dog so they can watch it.
I don't have a dog because they're too much to bring everywhere and it's hard to do everything with them.

We had a dog that loved going out in our rock crawler with us. She thought it was great. She would stay at camp and be quiet also. We didn't stay at camp parks just out in the boonies. Our current dog likes to jsut stay at camp so if we are all going out at the same time (which doesn't seem to happen much) we have to make other arangements. I guess it just depends on the dog.

I have seen people (and I did it before) ride their 4-wheelers with the dog on the back.

I hope this helps.
