From what I have heard you can put a 32" and have little or no rubbing.

The TRD packaged stock Tacomas come with 31" tires. I think they are 10.50. That is what I would run with stock since you know they won't rub, and that also leaves room for wider tires.

On my 99 TRD I was runnin 32X11.50 on the alloy rims that come with that package. I had a very little rub under full compression.

*****That does not mean it will fit your truck******
I have heard of a lot of trucks that could not do what I did, so what I recommend is:
Take it to a tire place and have them try "1" tire on a rim, no balancing, and make sure it will fit. I may have been lucky!

I have a '98 without the TRD package. On the stock alloys I have 32x11.5 Kelly Springfield Ridge Runners. They have a out a half inch of room when fully cranked left or right. I have heard that tires with larger lugs on the sidewalls will rub the wheel well. You may have to go with a less aggressive tire. Probably the best tire you could fit is the BFGoodrich AT.
