Default Tail Light Trouble

I recently made a wooden bed and put it on my truck. I have two lights to use for tail, stop, and turn, and am gonna get back up lights. The problem is the wiring harness has five wires and both lights have two. I tried putting the three (tail, stop, turn) wires from the harness directly into the new light which didn't work. I reconnected my old lights which are strapped down to the bumper...now they don't work. Any idea's on how I can connect the new "two-wire" lights? I'm illegal until i get something workin'

Thumbs up

I got the original lights working again. Apparently, I blew a fuse when i tried routing all three wires into lead of the tail light...duh, back-current. So now i still need help on what to do to wire the new tail lights.
