hey guys watsup! i just started on this forum and i wanted to know how i should get started offroading and fixing up my truck.i have a 03 tacoma, 4x4,sr5,twin cab, trd, everythings stock and i just wanna know if you guys have any opinions as to what i should do to start offroading my truck. thanks!
What do u plan on doing with ur truck? How much money do u have? Are looks important to u? Answer some of these and I'm sure u will get more responses. Glad to have u here and welcome.
Yeah we need to know what kind of wheeling and what type of look you are going for.. But if you want to keep the truck close to stock a mild lift 31 or 32inch tires with a semi aggrisve tread pattern would be a good start. RED
hey guys! i think im kinda in between, i think looks and performance are important...im a girl trying to get into a male dominated hobby so i wanna be able to show up some guys! as of right now im looking to spend about $500. so what should i do guys?
well your stock truck can do lots as is. And if you want to show up the boys it will come down to knowing your truck, learning all you can about how to offroad, and practice. http://www.tacomaterritory.com/wiki/index.php/Main_Page go there and read up and do some of the cheap easy mods like the gray wire mod.. and go here and read http://4x4now.com/4wht.htm This will be a great help and fill you with the knowledge yhou need. For 500$ i say get some rocksliders and skidplates. But then again it depends on what kind of wheeling you want to do...ROCK, SAND, MUD, etc. RED
thanks for all ur input and ideas. i was talkin to some friends and they were giving me some ideas too since they're into offroading and they suggested that the first thing to do is get a suspension lift. a friend has actually offered to sell me his lift since he has a tacoma also. do you think its a good idea? he told me it was a 3in donaho suspension lift. he's selling it to me for 1000. whats grey wiring? thanks again!
ok suspension lift opens a whole new can of worms.. From tearing CV boots to hundreds of dollars in extras to make sure the lift is done right.. plus install, you will want larger tires, etc. And if that lift kit he wants to sale you is used it could be a good price if it includes the rear lift and if the rear lift is a whole leaf pack. If not then it is asking way to much. If it is new then that is about what the front new goes for. Gray wire mod.. did you go to the links i posted for you and read through it all.. If not then do that and you will see what that is. RED
well it could be. YOu need to tell me all that is included in the kit and what type of miles have been put on it. I need to know that info first then we can go from there. RED
