Default Fuel Leak:Hard to start

Hey All,

It seems every weekend is spent fixing or working on something on the Yoda. Ha, well I don't generally mind working on things, it's just that it hurts my wallet most of the time and I'm running out of funds.....blah.

Anyway the other day I noticed a faint gas smell coming from my 1991 toy pick-up with 22re. I think this was on thursday but I wasn't quite sure it was coming from my truck but on friday I smelled it more strongly and then on Saturday when I filled it up I noticed it was dripping down the back of the thank quite a bit and I thought it looked like it was coming from the seem but then noticed it was wet above that too. Well everyday since Saturday it's been leaking more and faster and the smell is going to kill me.

Today I noticed it was creating small puddles wherever I park pretty quickly and that it looked like the whole bottom of the tank is wet but coming from the back and also from the front of the tank now too. It looks like it's dripping from the top of the tank and just going over on all sides but it's definately leaking really badly now......I think I've lost almost a quarter of a tank already

Since the first day I smelled gas my truck has also hard a very difficult time of starting up.....

I turn the key and it cranks for like ten seconds then I stop and then crank it again for a few more seconds and then it starts right up just fine.......As soon as it's started it runs just fine and doesn't feel like it's choking for fuel or anything at all.

So it looks like this weekend is going to be spent out in my shoppe crawling around underneath the yoda.......

I'm guessing it's something to do with the fuel lines and the fuel leaks out when it's off and then when I go to start it again there's no pressure?

If anyone has any hints or clues/ideas as to what might be going on under there it would be greatly appreciated....I've never dropped a fuel tank before and I don't really know what to expect. I do have a repair manual though but I haven't gotten to look at it about this much yet..

What should I expect to see down there? Would I need a whole new tank? Fuel lines?

Sorry for this long winded post...

-Nicco
