Do the california trucks with the 3.4l motor differ from the non cal trucks??? Maybe less horsepower or something..

Whys would that be? I live in cali. That would suck if they had different and weaker motors.

I am pretty sure that the 3.4 is a "50-state" motor, so it should be the same everywhere.

Sometimes cars being sold in California have "California Emissions", not sure if that is the case with the Tacoma.

"California Emissions" That is what I was talking about I know some car models with the "California Emissions" have less horsepower and such, just woundering if it was the case with Tacos. Also, Why when you are buying parts for the 3.4s do they ask if it is a single or dual catalytic converter model. Does that maybe have something to do with it. Thanks for your feedback guys.

I got an 02' with dual cats and feels same as any other single cat I have driven been in... so if there is any power loss, it has to be very small...

I also did the deckplate and threw a K&N in there... but still, felt the same as any others when I was test drivin at dealerships
