Is there anyway to lower the ride height of the rear of the truck? I only want to lower it a little bit because i think it sits to high for my liking. I heard myabe i could take the over load leaf(think thats what it is called) out and that would lower it. Would that be a bad thing to do? What would happen if i did that?
Could i have the stock springs re-arched? Who would be able to do that and how much would it cost? I read the deaver right up in the suspension article and it cost them around $150-$200, but they had deavers.
Also, are there any shocks that i can replace the TRD bilstiens with that are not for lifted vehicles? All i ever find are ones for a truck with a lift on the rear and i dont have that.
Hi Bruce! You could take out the overload spring but that would only lower the rear about 1/4 inch. Do your stock springs have any upward arch left in them? If so, you may want to remove the middle spring for a little drop without sacrificing ride characteristics. If they are flat (like mine) then removing one of them is not going to get you anywhere. As for rearching, this would only put the springs back to original arch and would raise the rear back to where they were when new.
As for shocks, try www.suspensions.com or jackit.com and look for heavy duty Bilstiens just by your model, year type apllication. I hope this helps. Bray Oh, maybe www.wheelersoffroad.com too.
