Hey, The Nissan pathfinder is rotting away and i was thinking of getting a pickup. Does Toyota make a good 4x4, x-cab 4cyl? I've got a baby on the way but still want a truck so i'd like a 2-door with a back seat. I also need good gas mileage. What is the comparison 6cyl to 4cyl? any years better and if there are any other hints i'd be glad to hear 'em!

Toyota makes great pickups. I have several.

My 93 is an extra cab and want to say that you can not put a baby seat in the rear seats safely. They do not mount securely and wiggle around.

I don't know how much you are looking to spend or how new you want, but I would recommend a 4 door Tacoma (same wheelbase as the xtra cab with a shorter bed) for baby seat duty if you want to get a pickup.

The 02 and newer have an child seat anchor that helps the seat stay still

Milage is the same for both 4banger and v6, that is why i got the 6
