Default Tire size question

Hi! I am new to the forum. Looks great!
I have an '03 Double cab 4X4 TRD with a 3" lift. I was wanting to put on 285/75/16 on. Wondered if they will rub, will the ride of the truck be much more harsh, decreased gas mileage (how much lower), etc. Thanks in advance!

i would guess you will have rubbing issues, the width is your main problem not the height, That tire would be 33x11.5, and the 11.5 is going to run somewhere- frame, tire well pinch weld, etc...

is running 33x12.5x15, but he had pretty good lift

yes it will hurt your milage, but you have to re-add the 10% you will lose from your odometer reading incorrect, you will lose 2-3 mpg being my best guess

I've got the 285/75/16s on my xcab prerunner.... I haven't got any lift on the truck.. I did the pinch weld mod, now I have very minimal rubbing... So I would think with 3 inches of lift, it wouldn't rub... and I get 19 mpg out of the 3.4

i have installed 255/85 r16 cooper discoverers(33.5" x 10"+/-)on my 01 double cab (stock rims) and have not had any rubbing issues and no pinch weld modification. however, i also have an ARB brush guard and that may help with stock clearance issues in the front of the tire. i do very little extreme offroading but do use my truck for hunting which requires creek crossings & such so it really does get used as a 4x4!
also these tires are wearing great as i have 50k on them and still about 3/8" of tread left! but i rotate every 6k and keep them inflated properly too.
just my 2 cents...
