| | Re: Stealth sub enclosures and redline power chip I don't know anything about the power chip you found, but i would shy away from any power chip for only 30 bucks... and i've heard some stories of how these guys rip off the customers that buy them. not necessarily this company but others have. the sub boxes are nice. i've been wanting the one that goes under the back seat for a long time. i like the fact that's it's hidden so no one can see it then decide to smash ur window and take it.

| | Re: Stealth sub enclosures and redline power chip I have bought a powerchip from that guy, they're pretty easy to install, but the performance improvement is minimal. I have noticed some improvement, and I figure I got my $30 worth. (You get what you pay for). I'm not supporting nor condemning performance chips, I think it's a matter of personal preference. It didn't cause any problems, I haven't seen much difference in MPG. I have seen a slight increase in how easy it is for me to smoke the tires on pavement. ( Haven't been 4x4ing yet with it in).
I don't know how it compares to any other chips out there, and I have no dyno sheets on mine.
If you get one from this guy, plan on 2 weeks shipping. He's not in much of a hurry. He does offer tech support, and seemed to know the right answers. Install is pretty strait forward. You don't have to bypass any sensors like you do with some of the other chips on the market. I mounted the module itself on top of the air cleaner box via velcro superglued onto the chip & the box.
I can't seem to get the pictures to post, so let me know if you want them, and I can email them to you.
As for the subs, I have a Std. cab, so mine wouldn't be applicable for you. I did however remove all of the jack equipment from behind the seats & relocated it under the hood to make room for my sweet Infinity thumper-box |

| | | Re: Stealth sub enclosures and redline power chip I built my sub like the e-bay link. It's only 8" but thats all that would fit. 250W amp is under the pass seat. It helps but it won't blow your windows out either. The nice thing is that no one knows it's there. Until they sit there! My kids call it the rumble seat. I like the other ones too. But my kids would probably poke holes in them!
As for the chip. I would stay away from. IMO |

| | Re: Stealth sub enclosures and redline power chip OK, I've had the Redline power chip on mine for a few weeks, done some hiway, city, and off-road with it. I'm taking it off!! It was a slight improvement in perforemance, but the gas mileage went in the toilet. If ya want mine, let me know, it's almost new & reeel cheap! |

| | | Re: Stealth sub enclosures and redline power chip does anyone have the install diagram for the redline chips? i was given one but with no instructions.
thanks
FYI I put 2 2Ohm Dual Voice Coil 10" kicker SoloBaric (you know the square ones) behind the back seat in my 05 4 door TRd sport. so you can fit real speakers if you get creative with the box. with a LUNAR amp on them it sounds really good.
(FYI if you are into very high end car audio checkout LUNAR amps they are by far the most solid and highest proforming car amps to date, the guy that makes them live near where i am from. http://www.lunaramplifiers.com/
hope this helps someone |

here's a pic, hook the red wire on the chip to the yellow/green wire, and the black wire on the chip to the brown/blue wire, right behind your airbox.
The text in the pic is pretty small, sorry about that.
This is for a 1997 / 3.4L 'Taco. Yours may or may not be the same.
On my connecter in the pic, the brown/blue wire is #2 wire from the forward edge of the connector, the yellow/green is wire #3 in the connecter. |

| | Re: Stealth sub enclosures and redline power chip I hate to dissapoint you, but it's not going to do what it says. Hell, even the Jet chip does not do what they say it does for $300. I have a resistor (just like the one they have) that I'll be glad to send anyone for $0 plus $5 shipping for you to try out. Our engines and ignition systems are already maxed-out for performance. So if you're also thinking about different spark plugs, forget them for the price. Or if you're thinking about new plug wires, genuine Toyota plug wires are as good or better than any out there. Believe me, I've wasted some money trying. Just my .02. Bray |
