| | I\'m FAT!!! I'm a big guy 6'3" 260 pounds. Last week i was unloading a suitcase at the airport and i was standing on my tailgate and the damn straps that hold the tailgate level broke and put four little dents in it. There was almost 400 pounds on it. It shouldn't have broken. should it?
When i looked at the straps they were badly rusted. You guys think Toyota will do anything about it if i :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: and complain? |

| | Re: I\'m FAT!!! I think that GM recently had a recall for their tailgate cables rusting, so you may want to check with Toyota to see if there is a "campaign" for rusted cables. Especially since you are in Cali and not the rustbelt.
I wouldn't mention how they broke or maybe downplay the amount of luggage. And maybe contact the NHTSA to see if their is any investigations.

| | Re: I\'m FAT!!! Mendez, that is a great story! A friend of mine told me a good story (experience) that he had that is a little similar. His house was located on a small hill, so his driveway was uphill from the street. He was washing his truck and had climbed into the bed to wash the top of his truck (I also do this). When he attempted to climb down, he stepped on the ball area of his OEM bumber, slipped and commenced to roll down his driveway. Well, he rolled a few feet and regardless of his injuries, jumped up to be sure no-one saw him. He said all seemed clear! He was a little shaken so he went inside and told his wife what had happened. Her only response was, "Did anyone see you?". Did you notice that WISC asked the same question, only in short form? I hope you're OK. And I have to agree with WISC on the manufacturer response. | | Re: I\'m FAT!!! Luckly i didn't take a face plant. I just stood there in shock. When i told my girlfriend, she kind of just smirked. If i had fallen she probably would have ran over and pointed and laughed her ass off.
Thanks for your guys's response |
