is there a difference betweeen a performance intake made for 99 2.7l tacoma engines vs 03 tacoma engines? did they change anything? is the size the same?

most people here have not had all that great exp with those, we recommend the Deckplate mod instead. it works just as well, cost less and is sealable if you go mudding. check out customtacos.com or yotatech.com
