Default 1998 limited 4x4. Two questions?

I want to put a set of headers on my 98 limited 4wd. What ones do you guys recomend? I have seen in some of the other posts that they are a :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: to do. Why?
My second question is this. I just bought a TJM 17 front bumper and should get it next week. What kind of rear bumper can I get that will half way match? I saw that there are several TJM's for the landcruiser. I was looking for something that is flat with tow loops built into it. I think I may have to have someone fabricate them for me. Any advice will be of great help.
I just got the American Racing Chambers that are Teflon black. My Taco is black and I think it will look real sharp with a set of 31" BFG's AT/ko on those rims and that TJM bumper. The money has almost run out. So, I would like to upgrade the exhaust. Should I go ahead and replace the whole thing all the way back?

Thanks Guys and gals

Hi 77YODER & welcome if I havn't already greeted you! You are looking at quiet a bit more money for the applications you mention. The best headers you can install are the TRD headers, which may go for $600 minimum unless you can find some used or on E-Bay. Other than that, I hear Downey headers are ok if you get the exhaust flanges machined, but you may need a cross-over pipe for the complete install.
I'm sure I'd love your truck because I have a '99 just the same as you. I love black and the wheels that you have are awsome! How about some pics!
Oh, as far as after the Cat, just find a reputable muffler shop to install the after-market muffler of your choice(2.5 inch pipe) and you're looking at $200. Many here favor the Flowmaster 40s & 50s. I hope this helps. Bray

Thanks Bray. It will be awhile on the pics because Im going out of the country for three months. I hope to have the rims/tires on as well as the bumper before I leave. I think I will start with that deck plate mod. It looks like you guys have done your homework on it. i used the K&N on my 91 and really wasnt all that impressed. So, it is good to hear that something else has been found to get better performance than those stupid, high priced-red :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: air cleaners!!! If you guys are interested in rims let me know. I come by them cheap and no they are not stolen.

I reccomend Downey headers. You will need to have a Y pipe made to fit your vehicle, but that coupled with a 2.5" cat back exhaust will bring that thing to life!!!

Downeys come down either side of the block, wheras TRDs still make a sharp bend on the DS header, running between the firewall and motor. Downeys will be less than TRDs money wise also.

What about edelbrock headers? I remember reading a good a review on them somewhere. Or is that for the 2.4 and 2.7 and not the 3.4?

Dezert_rida why do you say downey is better when everyone seems to think the trd are better? Is there any proof that downey performs better with the custom y pipe? I mean like dyno'ed results. Im not trying to say your wrong, its that i want to get headers soon and if it would be cheaper to get the downeys and get the same or better performance then the trds im all for it.
