Default 02 Tacoma electrical

Well I had a tail light go out in the tacoma last night. Was hoping for a smooth light bulb swap, however when swapping in the new bulb, small wave of smoke arose from the bulb, and I thought great, with as much electrical problems I had with my 1994 truck, I thought I was down another road of frustration and faulty electrical components.
After installing the 2nd new bulb, I now noticed, I had no dash lights, or any tail lights what so ever, not to mention it was already 10pm, already dark and I was a few miles from home. Thankfully I drove it back with out any traffic violations or accidents.
I woke up this morning hoping that all it was a few broken fuses and I would be on the road again. After taking a look at all the fuses under the dash, and not finding one bad one, I really began to worry.
I then check the fuse compartment under the hood and found the blown fuse.
Best news of all was I found 2 extra fuses and a tool to pull them out with. I was thrilled. Hats of to the toyota guys for being smart and saving me a trip to the parts store.
This was probably a long useless rant to some of you, and its probably even worse that I was this happy not having to make a trip to the parts store, but I just thought I would let some of you know, before you drive all the way to the parts store, not knowing you already have what you need. :All Good:

Not ranting what so ever to me. I would have felt the same way with an electrical problem that would have me dumb-founded such as this. Thanks for posting the good info as always! Bray
