What year rear bumpers are compatable (interchangeable) with my '01 double cab 4x4 V-6? I wonder if Toyota changed anything from '97-'04 in this area of the frame. thanks for your help!
I just replaced the rear bumper on my '02. The info I found said that bumpers from '96-'04 will fit, as long as it isnt a step-side. I got a stock bumper from a 2000 and it bolted on without a problem.
Does the same go for the front bumpers? I've been trying to pick out a nice front bumper for my '97, and it seems all the good ones say '98 and up. Will the fit on a '97? I know there are some out there specifying '97, but the ones I really like say '98 & up . . .

I don't know what you're looking to replace on your front bumper, is it damaged, etc?
I ran my truck into a guardrail during a snow storm and the insurance comapny wanted to fix it back to OEM. That would have cost around $1300!! I had them give me the check, so I could fix it. I ordered an ARB ($700 including s&h) and bolted it on and pocketed around $300 for future mods. It looks and is A LOT tougher than stock. Now I just need the winch.... Just my 2 cents.
No damage, just want to upgrade. I've seen a few online that I like, but they are all for '98 and up. Only ones I've seen for a 97 didn't look very good to me. And ya, if it's an option, you can always make a profit by getting a check from the ins. company & fixing things yourself! Way to go!
