Washed, polished & waxed my truck this weekend. I also semi-debadged it and used some new stuff from Nu Finish called Scratch-Off or something like that. It seemed to work pretty good on some of the scratches and where the badges used to be. Here's a pic. Bray
OK, you can see them larger here.
Looks really great. I tried some of that scratch stuff and was really pleased with the way it removed paint that had been left by car doors hitting my truck. I had red, blue, green and black paint scuffs on my doors. The scratch compound took it all away.
Thanks Netcelt, it may not look nice for long but it needed doing. You finding any places to wheel up there or have you had time? ALTTORA have some up your way form time to time. Bray
Hey Red thanks. Yeah, the reason why I got to work on it was because of the good weather we've been having (upper 80's and resonably dry). Hang on, it's on it's way. Bray
Bray, I don't do a whole lot of wheeling in my Tacoma. The worst my truck sees are dirt roads and old logging roads that get me to campsites. Too valuable as my daily driver to really do anything harder. One of these days I'm going to get a reasonable decent 4X4 (high mileage, older model) to use for wheeling. Did get to play in an old surface coal mine north of B'ham though in a company 4X4. We had to be there for work and the land was leased to a 4X4 club. They had built some amazing trails so we had to give em a try. Our truck was too big (F150 4X4) for most but it was a blast on the rest.

p.s.
How can I find out when ALTTORA are up my way? I would love to take my son to one of those events.
Tacogrande, it seems like the same pre-runner bar as the Pro-Comp. I purchased my Fabtech thingy from truckperformance.com. It leaves a lot to be desired & I have plans to brace it from 4 points to the frame. Maybe later even curling some bars to completely replace the oem bumber. Like it is, my wonderful Lightforce lights do a bit of shaking, even on Alabama county roads. The problem is that the bar mounts to only the plastic part of the bumper and not the metal(in my case, chrome) which is the only part of the oem bumper that is frame supported. Hence, my need to modify. I now call on the Lords to Modify!!! Bray
BRAYBOY: Nice lookin' truck! If you're still looking for a place for your AMP remote, I put mine just to the right of the e-brake,(vertically) set back so the knob's almost hidden from the passenger. Very inconspicuous, and easy to twist when you want to rattle someone's windows. (Sorry, a bit off-topic)
Was it hard to get the badges off your doors? I've been thinking about taking mine off too . . .
